Resumo:
The development of human life is strongly related to the energy use in its several
natures. For this development being stable it means that among other aspects, it is hardly
recomended to guarantee that the energy sources are available in sufficient levels and also,
accessible to supply the energy demand that supports the modern society development.
In Brazil, the main electric energy generation comes from hydraulic source , this
explains the large transmission system necessary to lead this energy to the consuming
centers. The energy rationing that took place in 2001 showed the fragility of the generation
system in Brasil, leading to strong discussions about energy alternative sources. Besides,
environment restrictions have created more and more difficulties to open new rights of way
for transmission lines.
This is the main point of the achievement, clearing the subject of distributed
generation, firstly introducing the matter and its definitions and later describing the main
tecnologies employed today in distributed energy generation.
The main contributions of this achievement remains the identification in Brasil of the
main opportunities and barriers for establishing distributed generation and, in a technical
aspect, a study of impacts of distributed generation insert in distribution system from the loss
analysis and short-circuit potential in a real feeder.
