Resumo:
The general objective of this research is to provide a social assistance diagnosis, at the
municipal level, of some families registered in the Bolsa Familia Program (PBF),
considering the worsening of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the nature of the data,
the research is classified as qualitative, and a field research is carried out. For data collection,
a semi-structured questionnaire was prepared, which was applied to families registered in
the Bolsa Familia Program. In view of the current scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic,
contact was made by phone, thus following the recommendations of the World Health
Organization (WHO) to maintain social isolation. With the data generated in the application
of the questionnaires and with the data collected, an educational deficit passed from parents
to children was identified, generating a low schooling of the family members. It was noticed
that most of the interviewees did not finish elementary school, which may help to explain
the high unemployment rate also analyzed in this research. With the pandemic, an increase
in inequalities was identified, in which most public school students did not have access to
online classes, but managed to deliver school activities in printed form. It was noted that
most families did not have a computer or other similar equipment at home and that a good
portion of these families had access to the internet. One way or another, it can be said that
technology has been inside the homes of millions of people, regardless of their financial
condition. It was also identified in the research that the main destination of the emergency
aid granted in 2020 was for the purchase of food and that there was an increase in
unemployment and a fall in the income of these program beneficiaries.
