Resumo:
The main purpose of this works is to present economical and technical
analysis, wich are viable to the reasonable use of water and a reduction of sewage in
oil refineries. This improvement includes the reuse of effluents in order to assure
more flexibility in industrial sewage treatment plants.
Nowadays, industries are coming across a scenery of expansion in water
consumption, what in the long run can endanger the productive activities. Growth of
water comsumption in oil refineries is higger than the improvement in production
requiring massive investment in water and sewage treatment. On the other side the
environmental agencies through a restrictive legislation are reinforcing laws to
prevent larger degradation.
On this work we are very concerned about the lack of natural resources,
mainly water for future generations. The most recent warnings were presented in the
GEO-2000 report, wich has its focus in lack of water and global warming. These two
subject will be most important matters to be discussed in the next century. Due to the
population growth and its respective need of water, society as a hole must find best
practices in water consumption.
During the work we realized that industries through simple practices can
reduce significantly the use of water and consequent effluent generation.
