Resumo:
The west-center region from Minas Gerais, is well-known for its significance on casting industries and ornamental-stone extraction duties; due to the fact that there are a large number of these industrials segments that concentrate in the area. Those industries generate a significant amount of solid residues, in most case those ones are stored in the proper companies, where they have been generated or even took to a worthless aggregated, as a pavement base for example. In order to achieve some objectives, this research is being done with specific aim to get the viable alternative for the suitable exploitation of the solid residues came from those industries. So, taking directions, the properties of a mortar produced from the slag/granite composite instead the whitewash, are presented. The produced mortar had been analyzed by assays of axial compressive strength, water absorption and the evaluation of making fissures, then comparing it to the conventional mortar. The mortar produced with slag/granite had presented such impermeability also the finishing better than the conventional mortar. However, the compressive strength is still minor than the conventional mortar, this is explained of the result of the low agglomerative power of the residue slag.
