Resumo:
In the last decades a spectacular development took place in the construction of dams.
Besides making possible the knowledge of the construction technology, there was an
expressive development of the concrete technology for dams, with special prominence for
the roller compacted concrete. The roller compacted concrete dams have been a strong
alternative if compared with the traditional earth dams, with the rockfill dams and with the
concrete face rockfill dams. With the recent appearance of new techniques and constructive
methods, RCC reached execution agility and significant cost economy in the construction
of concrete dams. Among the new constructive techniques, the sloped layer and grout
enriched roller compacted concrete (GERCC) stand out. This work has as objectives to
point out tendencies and future perspectives for construction of roller compacted concrete
dams and to develop a comparative study between the traditional methodology of
execution of RCC with the sloped layer and the grout enriched roller compacted concrete.
