Resumo:
In the last years it has been increasing the researchers' interest, contemplated by the
great number of publications, dedicated to the active control of noise, in structures as
aeronautics and vehicular. In that sense the study of the interaction between structures and
acoustic fields is of fundamental importance in the understanding and the application of the
technique of active control.
This work presents a study of the coupling between structures and acoustic fields,
applied in a structure of uniform cylindrical shell type. The ANSYS is used to obtaining the
natural frequencies and the acoustic and structural modes. It is shown that the structural and
acoustic modes act in different frequencies, that the number of modes of structural vibration is
larger than the number of acoustic modes and that the natural frequencies of a structure don't
increase with the increase of the modal indexes.
