This work deals with the aerodynamics properties of the flow around an oscillating body, which moves with constant velocity. The amplitude of the oscillatory motion is considered to be small compared to the airfoil length, therefore, to the first approximation; one is allowed to transfer the body boundary condition from the actual position to a mean position of the body surface. The numerical simulation is accomplished by using the Vortex Method, which takes into account the viscous effect in the flow field. Aerodynamic loads are calculated. An analysis of the oscillation effect on the mechanism of airfoil lift generation is also presented.
