Resumo:
The main objective of this work is the exergoeconomic evaluation of an electric
energy generation and steam production process in the sugar and alcohol segment. The
study results are presented of the thermal efficiency increase potential and the economic
viability of the current project of the plant cogeneration “Usina Colombo”. It is also
evaluated the options for the project modification aiming at an increase in the excess
electricity generation. It had been determined the costs the main flow system for the crop
corresponding to 2003 year, considering the installation costs as a new cogeneration plant,
for these calculation was considered a 15% yearly tax rate and ten years amortization. It
was done a detailed study about the thermodynamic limits of the ethanol and electricity
production by sugar cane, at this case the plant in study has a capacity different of the
mentioned before.
