Resumo:
This study focuses on the roles of Brazilian entrepreneurial universities in the science, technology and innovation scenario, considering the emergence of a new business market based on entrepreneurship and geared towards environmental, economic and social sustainability. The general objective is to discuss the perspectives of entrepreneurial universities in the Brazilian context, of a cultural and organizational nature, based on the accounts of actors who have made a significant contribution to the structuring of different entrepreneurial universities in the country. To this end, the study has the following specific objectives: 1) to understand how Brazilian entrepreneurial universities are characterized and to construct historical milestones based on the accounts of the experts selected; 2) to reflect on the roles of entrepreneurial universities in the innovation ecosystem, taking into account social and environmental aspects; and 3) to present the challenges facing universities and future prospects; 4) to produce a documentary on the past-present-future theme of entrepreneurial universities in the Brazilian context, based on the perceptions of experts who have helped in this construction. This is a descriptive and exploratory study, with a qualitative approach, using the oral history research method, which consists of the history of the present time, considering that it implies the perception of the past as something that continues today and whose historical process is not over. The results of this study were: a survey of the historical milestones of the role of the entrepreneurial university in Brazil, from the 1980s to the current decade, as it is a process that is constantly evolving; the identification of the roles of the UEs and their contributions to the ecosystem and society. It was found that, in the ecosystem in which they are inserted, they perform various functions, such as: solving problems and meeting society's demands, through research and practices that impact reality; contributing to the development and improvement of public policies; teaching with a solid scientific and technological base; stimulating new ventures; promoting a culture of entrepreneurship; and supporting the development of the SDG. In addition, it was identified that Brazilian universities face challenges such as the consolidation of the third mission, which is still under development, the need for a more open and interdisciplinary dialogue, and the impact of the commercialization of higher education, especially in private institutions that prioritize profit over knowledge; the proposition of a model for Brazilian entrepreneurial universities; and finally, a documentary was produced, with approximately 40 minutes on the theme 'past-present-future of entrepreneurial universities in the Brazilian context', with the aim of spreading the entrepreneurial culture across society, based on the university's performance. This study concludes that there have been many changes over the last few years. However, universities are moving faster and will still have to accelerate further to deliver solutions to society from studies and research aimed at making the world more sustainable in economic terms and, above all, in terms of practices to mitigate environmental impacts and social well-being.
