Abstract:
São muitas as pesquisas que relatam os problemas relacionados ao ensino de conteúdos de Astronomia na educação básica. Em razão desse cenário, surgem enquanto possibilidade, ações de formação continuada voltadas à abordagem da Astronomia para atenuar as lacunas formativas dos professores. Visando contribuir com a formação dos professores para o ensino de Astronomia, esta pesquisa teve como objetivo geral caracterizar o ensino de Astronomia em escolas rurais do município de Brazópolis-MG que oferecem o ensino fundamental II e analisar os potencias para a formação continuada de professores de um curso prático voltado ao ensino de Astronomia. O estudo é de natureza qualitativa e para a coleta de dados fez uso de técnicas de Grupo Focal (GF), aplicação de questionários e gravações em áudio dos discursos dos professores durante as etapas de realização da pesquisa. A análise dos dados coletados aponta que se tratando de conteúdos de Astronomia os professores apresentam muitas dificuldades em virtude de uma formação inicial deficiente dos conteúdos de Astronomia e pela pouca oferta de cursos de formação continuada na área que se adequem a realidade e a disponibilidade dos professores que atuam em escolas rurais. Além disso, mostrou a existência de concepções alternativas especificamente relacionadas a saberes populares típicos da vida rural. A proposta de um curso de formação continuada com enfoque prático se mostrou um importante método para que os professores entendessem os conceitos e fizessem as relações corretas dos fenômenos astronômicos estudados. As atividades do curso proporcionaram momentos de construção coletiva de significados, de compartilhamento de ideias, dúvidas e também de aprendizagens, além de ser um importante aliado para minimizar as dificuldades e disseminar novos recursos e metodologias que os professores podem utilizar para auxiliar e potencializar suas práticas docentes em relação ao ensino de Astronomia.
