Resumo:
This research aims to structure the management of apiaries based on an information system,
which allows for better planning and support for decision making by the manager in the
management practices of the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais Bambuí campus. The
performance of the hive management activity effectively reduces factors that directly affect
production, such as diseases, swarming, food shortages, among others. Production excellence
is guaranteed through good management and the beekeeper needs to control information about
each hive, such as origin, genetics and age of the queen, since these details are important to
evaluate the quality and efficiency in the production of honey and honey. propolis. The
Apiculture sector of the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG) Bambuí campus, lacks
instruments that facilitate management of the managements and assist in decision making, this
lack ends up resulting in a less efficient management of the production process. The
construction of this research is based on the Design Science Research methodology, consisting
of four phases: Phase 1 - Problem, problem identification; Phase 2 - Solution, construction of
the design models; Phase 3 - Development, construction of the artifact; Phase - 4 Evaluation,
feasibility and utility analysis of the artifact. In the development, a prototype of an information
system for the management of this institution's management is presented. The functionalities:
activity schedule, management history, event records and production reports per hive, are
resources that proved to be suitable as management tools. The planning and implementation
process was built with reference to interviews with the manager of the beekeeping laboratory
at IFMG-Bambuí, in order to analyze and propose the necessary elements for the construction
of the design.
