Resumo:
The present study approached the joint application of two decisions support tools:
simulation and optimization. First, a revision of the literature was elaborated to verify the
researches about tools used in this work: Activity Based Management (ABM), simulation,
optimization as well as the combination of two last. The propose of revision is support the
application phase, which was done in a manufacturing cell of a spare parties supplier. With
studied tools this cell was modeled, validated and optimized. The changes in the production
cost were verified and analyzed through the ABC; it provides smaller distortions of cost
distribution. The optimization and the simulation were executed using the simulation package
ProModel®
that includes optimization software based on Genetic Algorithms, SimRunner®
.
Finally, this work verified the real potentiality of the joint use of optimization and simulation
in cost reduction of a manufacturing cell; it realized a good alternative for this kind of
problem.
