Abstract:
The Public Administration has considered the application of Lean Thinking as a potential approach in order to improve the services provided by it. However, such implementations have encountered some barriers, such as the low level of engagement of the servers, also caused by difficulties in assimilating the approach and visualizing the possible benefits generated with its application. In order to contribute to the fight against this deficiency, this study aimed to develop a game in the format of a Serious Game (game that combines playful aspects and educational objectives) for training in the principles and lean tools of civil servants who work in public administrative environments, using the action-research method . The study had as unit of analysis a group of technical administrative servants from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the South of Minas Gerais (IFSULDEMINAS) - Campus Muzambinho, who effectively participated in the development of the game together with the researcher, through experiments, analyzes and successive validations. For the development of the game, the metamodel proposed by Miyashita, Barbosa and Azeredo (2007) was used for the development and evaluation of learning for business games. The action-research was carried out in three cycles, in which the servants answered the IMMS questionnaire (Instructional Materials Motivation Survey), as a way of evaluating the experimentation and validating the suggested and implemented changes. As a final product, the game “A Cidade Enxuta” consists essentially of a board, cards and a book of tips and answers, and the digital files of all components were made available in full for possible replications.
