Resumo:
The provision of school transport is an obligation of states and municipalities,
and the school transport service must meet the needs of students, enabling the right
to access education and transport, eliminating obstacles that hinder enrollment and
attendance at an educational institution or harm your physical well-being. However, in
the municipality where the study is being developed, it appears that there is a lack of
information that makes efficient management of school transport difficult, since
decisions are made based on unrecorded information, since decisions are made based
on unrecorded information, which does not allow for verification. Therefore, it becomes
difficult to anticipate problematic situations, as there is no effective control over the
provision of the service. Given the situation exposed, this study aims to develop a set
of indicators to support the management of school transport within the scope of the
Municipal Department of Education of Estiva – MG so that decisions are structured
and based on real, reliable, understandable and available information. Regarding the
methodology, it is an exploratory, applied and qualitative research, with the
methodological procedure adopted being action research. As the students are the main
interested parties in this study, during the development of the research, we sought to
suggest indicators capable of offering information that improves the provision of school
transport services aimed at students, considering that the service is fundamental to
guaranteeing access to education, contributing to social and economic development.
Upon completing the research, it is believed that the adoption of the proposed
indicators will assist in problematic situations and proposed changes related to
vehicles, routes, schedules and students, considering that the management of this
information will be able to make the administration of school transport more efficient.
