Resumo:
This research represents the analisys of the knowledge management in the Product
Development Process in conformance the ISO 9001:2000. The reason of such scientific
contribution is tailed to fact that “the product development process is one of the processes
where the necessity of its knowledge management manifests in a most critical way” (Nonaka e
Takeuchi, 1992). Thus there were analyzed two propositions the first verifying if ISO 9001:2000
contributes with the transformation of tacit knowledge into explicit identified in the elaboration
of documents and records, and, the second one analyzing if the generated knowledge in
measurement, analysis and improvement steps impacts on the reduction of the number of
internal and external non-conformities in product design. Finally, this research describes in its
theoric fundamentation: the knowledge management; the product development process; the
NBR ISO 9001:2000 quality management system with emphasis on the PDP. Further it
describes the study case, the data collection and analysis, what leads to the conclusions and the
identification of research continuation opportunities
