Resumo:
The expression Quality of Work Life has been more frequently and detailed analyzed by
several institutions. It is very comprehensive and suitable for a time when knowledge,
technology, leadership and other diverse factors are highly valued. However, the agent
subjected to these implementations in our companies is very often left aside.
With the evolution of studies regarding the social area, organizations begin to invest in the
improvement of quality of work life, and the result is a more humanized environment
represented by the improvement in the relation between bosses and their subordinates.
It is necessary to maintain a vigilant posture against all the dehumanazing practices at work.
The leader’s essential task consists of providing the existence of good work conditions and
methods, so that people can achieve their own goals by orienting their efforts towards the
company’s goals in order to prevent unsatisfied behaviors.
Awareness in all the senses of respect and be respected as a professional, self-knowledge and
the knowing the other are essential components for understanding how the other person acts at
work, making the relations easier or more difficult.
This research, which was carried out by using interviews, presents results based on Walton’s
QWL model.
The feasibility of applying the model in educational institutions, serving as a tool to measure
Quality of Work Life was observed.
